Welcome

Transportation infrastructure support economic growth and quality of life for citizens. Optimal operation and maintenance of transportation infrastructure, such as bridges, is crucial to support these goals. In addition, sustainable bridge management and digitalisation of the different processes have gained momentum - all reinforcing that IABMAS goals are highly relevant for the engineering community. It is with great pleasure that an occasion to share the new achievements on the topics of Bridge Maintenance, Safety, Management, Digitalisation and Sustainability aspect is going to be presented at COPENHAGEN IABMAS 2024: 12th International Conference on Bridge Maintenance, Safety and Management. The first eleven conferences in the series were very successful, both technically and academically, and IABMAS conferences have become established events in the field of bridge maintenance, safety and management and related topics. For the first time the conference will be in Scandinavia and IABMAS Denmark looks forward to welcoming you all to wonderful Copenhagen. We intend to make the 12th edition and 25th anniversary of IABMAS another successful event.

IABMAS 2024 will be held at the Tivoli Hotel and Congress Center situated centrally in Copenhagen with superb conference services, modern audio-visual facilities, hotel rooms, etc. Several alternative options for accommodation can also be found within walking distance. The Tivoli Hotel and Congress Center is easy to reach by public transport (30 min.) from the airport and within walking distance from the historical city centre and the famous Tivoli Gardens.

The objectives of COPENHAGEN IABMAS 2024 are to address all aspects of bridge maintenance, safety and management. Specifically, it deals with bridge repair and rehabilitation issues, bridge management systems, needs of bridge owners, financial planning, whole life costing and investment for the future, bridge related safety, risk and economic issues. In addition, sustainability and digitalisation in relation to management of the existing bridge stocks are top of the agenda for COPENHAGEN IABMAS 2024.

COPENHAGEN IABMAS 2024 aims to act as a forum for academics, practitioners, owners and operators to discuss recent advances and identify future research directions.

After years of difficult times due to the pandemic crisis, we anticipate your physical participation in technical debates of the highest level and interest.

We look forward to welcoming you in Copenhagen in June 2024.
